We presented our 3DCP technology in Japan

The 3D concrete printing technology developed by our subsidiary Coral Construction Technologies attracted the interest of more than sixty construction and technology companies. Japanese attendees at conferences in Osaka and Tokyo particularly appreciated the flexibility, efficiency, and economic benefits of this technology.

The conferences in Tokyo and Osaka, which we organized in cooperation with the CzechTarde agency, brought together representatives from more than sixty construction companies, technology firms, and municipal governments. Japan is among the most technologically advanced and construction-active countries, which have long supported innovation and new approaches in the construction industry. This is one reason why 3D concrete printing technology has generated significant interest here.

Technology That Could Transform the Construction Industry

Thanks to its lightweight design and mobility, the Gen26 printer from Coral enables 3D printing of concrete structures directly on the construction site. Furthermore, the technology is designed to operate in various climatic conditions using locally available material—standard ready-mix concrete. In this case, there is no need to use special and often more expensive bulk mixtures, which is the greatest advantage of this patented printer.

This approach significantly simplifies construction logistics while reducing implementation costs. The technology thus represents a practical solution for modern and efficient construction.

A second step toward entering the Japanese market

“Even during the EXPO 2025 world exhibition in Osaka, which we attended as an official partner, we noticed interest in this technology from Japanese companies. We are therefore building on our engagement in Japan last year through these conferences. This year, we wanted to reach out to specific construction and technology companies, gain a better understanding of the Japanese construction market, and see how potential partners would react to our product,” says Adam Soustružník, Head of Marketing and Communications at Purposia Group.

However, the path to the Japanese market may be a long one. “Interest in 3D concrete printing technology is truly high among Japanese companies. At the same time, though, we know that the Japanese environment has its own specific characteristics—nothing can be rushed. Everything depends on patience, building trust, and long-term work,” says Jan Hasík, CEO of Purposia, adding: “A big thank you also goes to the Czech institutions and their representatives in Japan, who have been immensely helpful to us throughout. I would like to thank EXPO 2025 Commissioner General Ondřej Soška, Czech Ambassador to Tokyo Martin Klučara, and his colleague Ondřej Kopečný. Likewise, to Jakub Hájek from CzechInvest Japan and, above all, to Richard Schneider and Martin Jirkal from CzechTrade Japan, with whom we spent more than half a year preparing for this trip.”

After the U.S. market, it’s Japan’s turn

Coral has already successfully entered the U.S. market; Japan represents the next territory where the company would like to expand. “We want to prove that 3D concrete printing is the right technology to start with so that the global construction industry can be automated and robotized,” concludes Tomáš Vránek, CEO of Coral Construction Technologies and ICE Industrial Services.
