Zlín won the Czech Modelium 2026 finals, while Brno took home the employee award

The Zlín Technical High School dominated the Czech national finals of the 18th annual Modelium competition. The HSF System Employee Award went to the Brno Polytechnic High School in Jílová. Both teams will advance to the international superfinals in November.

This year’s competition theme was “A Building as a Work of Art.” Students were tasked with creating an original model of a building out of corrugated cardboard that combines architecture with a distinctive artistic element while also taking into account the feasibility of its construction using 3D concrete printing technology.

The expert jury was most impressed by the design from the Secondary Polytechnic School in Zlín, which took home a cash prize of 15,000 CZK for its victory. HSF System employees praised the design from the Polytechnic Secondary School in Brno, which received a prize of 7,500 CZK. Teams from construction industry schools in Ostrava and Plzeň are also advancing to the international superfinal.

The four best Czech schools will compete against four Slovak teams in the superfinals on November 4, 2026, at City Campus—the new building of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ostrava. The general partner of the competition is the construction group HSF System, and the main partner is the real estate development group ANTRACIT.
