HSF System has completed another 3D-printed structure

Slovakia is now home to the first car wash built entirely using 3D concrete printing technology. The car wash is an extension of the Klokan shopping center in Žilina, which HSF System built as the general contractor back in 2025. The car wash is the first structure of its kind in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and ranks among the pioneering commercial buildings of its kind in Europe.

The entire structure is built from forty 3D-printed concrete components, which were produced in the manufacturing hall of the subsidiary Coral Construction Technologies. Printing them took just 36 hours. Although individual components could have been printed on-site, the chosen approach reduced dependence on weather conditions and allowed for better control over production accuracy and the sequencing of subsequent work.

“What makes this project unique is that it was created entirely in-house—from design through project preparation to the actual construction. We’ve thus proven that 3D printing is no longer just a vision of the future, but a reality,” says Tomáš Kosa, CEO of the HSF System construction group.

HSF System and Coral Are Advancing Automation in Construction

“Our collaboration with HSF System is helping us move 3D concrete printing from the development phase to actual construction projects. We’re striving to show that robotization and automation in construction are the right path forward, just as we’ve seen in industrial manufacturing,” adds Tomáš Vránek, CEO of Coral Construction Technology.

The building is currently fully operational and serving its purpose, as it meets all necessary specifications, including the thermal insulation and fire resistance requirements set by the relevant authorities. The project’s investor was MC Štadión, part of the KLM Real Estate development group.

The project builds on previous successful implementations by HSF System and Coral Construction Technologies, including, for example, the 3D-printed upper station of the cable car at the Kopřivná ski resort. Both companies—and above all, their completed projects—confirm that 3D concrete printing is no longer merely an experimental technology but is becoming a standard part of modern construction. Furthermore, 3D concrete printing technology enables faster construction, high manufacturing precision, and reduced waste.
