Hradec Králové, April 15, 2026 – The international construction group HSF System, acting as the general contractor, has begun construction of a new Kaufland store in Hradec Králové. The building is being constructed in the area between Sokolská Street, Benešova Avenue, and Zborovská Street, near the Mileta intersection. The project is part of a broader transformation of the area, following the modernization of the transportation hub and other planned developments in the vicinity. The store is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027.
The new store will be a two-story building. The first floor will feature customer parking. The second floor will house the Kaufland retail space itself, spanning approximately 3,000 m², complemented by additional retail units.
“Our goal is to ensure the construction proceeds smoothly and to deliver a modern retail facility of a quality that meets the requirements of both the investor and future customers,” says Radka Rybolová, head of the HSF System division, adding: “We can draw on our many years of experience in the construction of shopping centers and department stores. Retail projects have recently become a significant part of our turnkey projects.”
The project also anticipates future expansion. The building’s structure will allow for the addition of office space on upper floors. The construction also includes a covered loading dock, which will ensure efficient and operationally separate store deliveries.
Preparations for the new store began as early as 2017. However, construction itself had to wait for the resolution of transportation infrastructure issues, particularly the reconstruction of the Mileta intersection. This is one of the city’s key transportation projects, and its completion opens the door to further development of the area.

We are excited to see the construction move into its above-ground phase, when the project will begin to take shape rapidly under the hands of our experts and assume its final form,” says František Hucl, Head of the Construction Department at Kaufland.
